What kind of doctor are you?
We are Chiropractic Physicians who believe the body is intelligent with its actions and responses. We treat you, not a number or a copay. We use our training, skill and experience to help you get your life back to where you want it. Our primary concern is helping your body get to a place that it can heal.
Pain and symptoms are not indicators of health. They are a communication tool the body uses to let you know there is a dysfunction in the body. This is similar to a “check engine light” in your car. So, it would make sense to find the cause of the symptom and repair that issue. This is why we are successful even in times we are the “last resort.”
Why do you analyze and adjust the spine?
Briefly, motion is life. The joints of the body are sealed and do not have a direct blood supply to them, so the movement of the joints is how nutrients get in and waste gets out. Movement is also how the brain gets information about how the joint is functioning. When movement stops in a joint due to injury, over usage, posture or whatever, the brain gets a signal of stress from the joint. The joint will then start to build up waste which causes inflammation and stresses the brain by sending a signal asking for help. The brain will then begin to protect that joint by using larger muscles to stabilize or splint the area to prevent harm. But, left untreated an area can start to degenerate the joint and cause stiffness, soreness or pain as a result.
Adjusting the joint that is not moving correctly allows for correction of motion, restores nutrient flow and returns the nervous system to ease and control over the joint.
The big question I ask when assessing each patient is: Why is the body NOT able to handle this? For example, let’s take a patient with carpal tunnel syndrome in the right hand.
The carpal tunnel is a passageway in the wrist that the median nerve travels through to reach the hand. This nerve supplies control to and feedback from the thumb, index and middle finger and part of the ring finger. This nerve originates from fibers of the C5-T1 nerves (at the base of the neck), travels out of the neck, through the shoulder, down the arms, in-between or through muscles, through the carpal tunnel and into the hand. Therefore, there are a few places for that nerve to be impinged and only releasing the correct one will resolve the pain and weakness and allow the body to heal.
How do you know if chiropractic can help?
How much does a chiropractic case cost?
The cost will vary depending on your insurance, discount program or your condition. As you know this has gotten more complicated over time and there are many plans and regulations. We will always try to understand your situation and let you know costs ahead of time to the best of our ability.
How will you adjust my spine?
We know many different techniques or methods to adjust your spine. We try to use the most gentle but effective way of getting your spine to move correctly. We tell patients that we are not addicted to “crack” meaning the joint does not have to make a sound for an adjustment to be successful. We will talk with you thru any concerns you may have and make modifications to make you comfortable but still get results.
Does everyone need chiropractic?
I don’t know. I do know it is wise for our health to get our eyes, teeth and blood pressure checked! And the odds are that if you are reading this still that your body is communicating with you through some symptoms, and it might be a good idea to see if we can help.
We believe everyone can benefit from a healthy spine. Spinal health is important for your overall well-being.
A healthy spine affects all of the activities that we do for health and longevity: nutrition, sleep and rest, exercise, work, and mental status. Having a healthy nervous system brings efficiency to all of these other areas.
Do you and your family have a properly functioning nervous system? Only a chiropractic spinal checkup can tell.
