What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is about life. Life is too short to hurt!

A chiropractor cares about the joints in the spine and body because they are sealed. This means there is no direct blood supply into that area to supply nutrients and remove waste. The proper motion of the body is required keep nutrients flowing in and waste out of the spine and joints. So, if the joint stops moving it cannot be healthy. Stiffness, soreness and pain may be symptoms of this problem called a subluxation. A joint that does not move correctly sends a signal to the brain causing it stress to help it. This causes the body to protect the joint. We feel this as tightness, stiffness and pain. Adjusting the restricted joint to restore motion allows the body to heal and restore function to that joint and surrounding tissue. The bad news is this takes time to heal. The good news is it will heal given time and effort. A chiropractor is a primary care physician with specific training to find, diagnose and treat the body when it is having trouble with the biomechanics of the joints affecting the health of the body.
